Order of Kata
Gekisai Di Ni (A C. Miyagi kata)

 

Gekisai means attack and smash.
Both Gekisais were created by Chojun Miyagi in 1940.

 

  1. Stepping out w/R foot turning 90 degrees to L upper head block;
  2. Move straight into R side Sanchin and execute R mid-Punch;
  3. Drop back R leg into a horse stance and execute L low-block;
  4. Stepping up 90 degrees into R sided Sanchin w/R upper-block;
  5. Move straight into L side Sanchin and execute L mid-Punch;
  6. Drop back L leg into a horse stance and execute R low-block;
  7. Turn and look straight ahead, move L leg into L sided Sanchin and execute a slow L Hook block w/breathing (exhale);
  8. Move into R side Sanchin and execute a slow R Hook-block w/breathing technique (exhale);
  9. In ONE fluid motion, execute reverse L front kick, stepping into L Zenkutsu executing a L mid-Elbow strike, L back-hand, bringing in the L elbow into body, Left circular block and fist strike, reverse R punch, stepping up w/the R foot execute R front sweep while turning 180 degrees into R Sanchin simultaneously executing a R shuto into small step-up w/Ki;
  10. Move into L Sanchin and slowly execute L hook-block w/breathing technique (exhale);
  11. Then, commence R side Sanchin w/R hook-block at MID-POINT STOP and reverse direction of both stance and block. When the return to L Sanchin is completed execute #9 in reverse (commencing w/R front kick and finishing w/L shuto);
  12. Drop L leg into L sided Cat stance @ 45 degrees and execute Mowashi Uke;
  13. Drop R Leg into opposite side into R sided Cat stance and execute Mowashi Uke and Yame.
  14. Move R leg up to L and Yame.
